Frequently Asked Questions
1
What is Direct Primary Care (DPC)?
Direct Primary Care is a healthcare model where patients pay a monthly membership to their doctor instead of going through insurance. This means you get more personal time with your doctor, often with same-day or next-day appointments. It also gives you access to a range of services for an affordable monthly fee. This approach aims to make healthcare simpler, more transparent, and more focused on you as a patient.
2
Do you accept insurance? Are you "in network"?
No. ClearPath Direct Primary Care operates outside of the traditional insurance-based system - and that's intentional. We believe patients deserve better than rushed, impersonal, and reactive care.
By removing the middlemen, we're able to work directly for our patients - offering proactive, un-rushed, and truly personalized care focused on long-term health and well-being. Our care plans are guided by what's best for the patient, not what's reimbursed. This allows us to spend more time with each person, build stronger relationships, and practice medicine the way it was meant to be - with clarity, connection, and care.

What is the difference between DPC and Concierge Medicine?
Direct Primary Care (DPC) and Concierge Medicine both focus on improved access and a stronger doctor–patient relationship, but they differ in cost and structure.
DPC uses a simple, affordable monthly membership that covers most primary care services with no insurance billing. It’s designed to make quality care accessible and transparent for individuals and families, often at a fraction of the cost of concierge models.
Concierge Medicine, on the other hand, typically charges a higher annual retainer in addition to billing insurance. These practices often cater to a smaller, more exclusive patient base.
At ClearPath DPC, our goal is to make personalized, relationship-based care available to everyone — without hidden fees, insurance hassles, or barriers to access.
4
Do I still need insurance?
Yes. ClearPath does NOT replace your health insurance. We strongly recommend you maintain health insurance to cover the larger medical expenses outside of primary care like emergencies, surgeries, hospitalizations, and specialist care. You can also still use your insurance to pay for medications.
Catastrophic, high deductible health insurance plans and health shares can compliment your Direct Primary Care (DPC) membership well. This is where high deductible insurance steps in, acting as a safety net that protects you and your family from overwhelming medical costs. By having this coverage in place, you can enjoy peace of mind knowing that you’re prepared for unforeseen events and ensuring that your healthcare needs are met without the added stress of financial burden.
5
Can I use my HSA dollars?
With recent updates to the HSA tax code, patients can now use their Health Savings Account dollars toward a DPC membership. This change, which takes effect January 1, 2026, will allow you to enjoy the same valuable tax advantages of an HSA account while also gaining easy access to your doctor, personalized care, and a stronger healthcare partnership.
6
What does my monthly membership cover?
Your ClearPath DPC membership includes unlimited visits with your doctor - in person, by phone, text, or video - with no surprise bills or rushed appointments. All office visits and many basic procedures are covered by your membership. You also get same or next-day appointments, enjoy access to at-cost labs, wholesale medications, and discounted imaging, all with transparent pricing. It's personalized, relationship based care made simple and affordable.
7
What if I decide to cancel my membership?
Membership is designed to be flexible and patient-centered. Members may cancel at any time with a 30-day written notice. There are no long-term contracts or hidden fees—just transparent, month-to-month care. This approach reflects our commitment to trust and accessibility, allowing patients to stay only as long as the model truly meets their needs.

What if I am healthy and don't go to the doctor often?
Direct Primary Care membership offers amazing benefits, especially for those who are generally healthy and don't visit the doctor often. With DPC, you can enjoy easy access to your doctor via phone, text, or video appointments, perfect for when you just need a quick answer or advice without a full appointment. This flexibility means you can get what you need, when you need it, all while avoiding long wait times. Plus, with membership often including preventative care services, you can be proactive about your health and maintain a solid relationship with your healthcare provider!
